The system can be setup to work on Dynamic IP addresses by following these steps: 1. Register a dyndns service at http://www.dyndns.com/ 2. Navigate to 'System: Settings: Servers: DynDNS Update Service' 3. Set the time interval at which the DynDNS update request will be sent. The 'minute' setting is recommended 4. Set the way DynDNS service should work: • | Update & Monitor - Monitor and update/reload IP address(es) of monitored servers once they change |
• | Monitor only - Monitor for IP address change but do not update/reload |
5. Provide your dyndns domain to 'Dynamic hostname' field. Requests will be periodically sent to this domain in order to see if the IP has changed (e.g. mydomain.dyndns.org) 6. Set the username and password required for authentication with your account at dyndns.com 7. Set 'DynDNS Server' to 'members.dyndns.org' 8. Set 'CheckIP' to 'checkip.dyndns.org' 9. Only if the system is in a network with other servers, provide dyndns server names here, otherwise leave empty. These are periodically checked to see if their IP has changed and are automatically updated if changes occur. (Set in 'System: Networking: Peers') 10. Save your settings and reboot the system
